One of the primary things that make us different is as a Chiropractor it is my job to educate you on not only what I do and why but what can you do to help yourself. Most of my patients benefit from learning stretches and exercises to help them prevent the problems most people are plagued with.
I know in most Chiropractic offices you are required to sign up for long term care plans, or the typical three times a week for eight weeks or more recommendation. I tell all of my new patients that we (1) need to determine what is going on with them that may be the cause of their issues, (2) if it is something that I can help you with and finally (3) we need to see how you respond to my treatment. You are a unique individual and your needs are just as unique, I always try to make my recommendations based on what I believe you truly need.
Finally, I know a lot of health care professionals do not have the time anymore to adequately care for their patients or truly listen to them. I believe we need to determine what treatment is required so I assess you on each visit. This means that we need to check you and figure out what needs to be done on that visit. I have several colleagues that after the first visit they laminate a card with what levels to adjust and do the same exact adjustments each visit. I believe that your spine and other joints are dynamic, that is they are always adapting and changing. I would equate this to going to a Dentist with a toothache and they always drill on the same tooth.
I do not think a visit should last for an hour nor is it appropriate to get people in and out of the office in under 3 minutes. We need the time to communicate with each other for me to properly determine how best to serve you.
So, how many times do I need to get adjusted? I get this question all the time. Please see the “How Often” tab for more information.
